S.T.E.A.M.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. As part of our Creative Suite, the STEAM Lab is a projects-based course that pushes students to create and develop projects or design challenges that reflect real-world issues. Students delve into several different disciplines including, but not limited to: computer coding, electricity and circuits, video production and animation, engineering, design thinking and making.

STEAM encourages students to research and brainstorm solutions for problems in their communities and beyond, in order to make the world a better place for all. Using the engineering design process and Bloom’s taxonomy of learning frameworks, students are given design challenges for each unit of learning. Using the Four C’s of STEAM: Collaboration, Communication, and Creative and Critical Thinking as vehicles for exploring all five collaborative disciplines, this course prepares students to be productive and positive participants in worlds of life, work and learning.
