Jamie Pickup
Teaching Assistant
Jamie first joined the OSS team in 2016 as an AmeriCorps volunteer and is excited to return as a Teaching Assistant. Over the years, she has taken on various roles at the school, including volunteer coordinator, office assistant, nautical and animal science teacher, and summer tutor. Now, she is looking forward to working in the Creative Suite and providing general support around the school.
A proud honors graduate of Fairhaven High School, Jamie has called New Bedford home for the past decade. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Radiation Sciences from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 2009.
In addition to her professional work, Jamie is an accomplished artist. In 2020, she founded Beyond Brae Studio, where she creates diverse art, including pet portraits and sea glass sculptures. Outside of work and art, Jamie enjoys spending quality time with her family and hunting for sea glass. Her broad range of experiences and creative skills make her a valuable asset to the OSS team, and she is eager to contribute her talents and enthusiasm to support the school community.
