Angel Diaz

Angel Diaz joined the OSS community in 2014. In addition to leading our school-wide fitness program, he is also a STEAM Lab instructor and digital music and performing arts teacher. As an active and impactful community member, Angel has worked effectively with many youth educational organizations such as YouthBuild USA, Citizen Schools, Trustees of Reservations, and he was the program director for Dream Out Loud Center. He applies his experience as a professional DJ, motivational speaker, and music producer to the classroom and stage where he often refers to himself as an Edutainer. Outside of OSS, Angel leads an initiative called Steam the Streets, a program that works with public schools to inspire students to pursue careers in STEAM. Its mission is to highlight diversity and provide young Black and Brown students with the exposure to the accomplishments of folks of color, and to help them realize they have the capacity and the ability to carve their way into the future. Angel is a graduate of Leadership SouthCoast and is currently pursuing his degree in organizational leadership and change at College Unbound.
